A minor milestone for the trip preparations. I got my trip camera. It's a Canon S5 IS. It's not cutting edge technology, but it's a good point-and-shoot camera and it's gotten very good reviews. I can't actually use it yet, because it's a birthday present and my birthday isn't until June.
I also got my last Hepatitis vaccinations today. Hepatitis A is two-shot series, and Hepatitis B is three. I think the only shots I have left are Typhoid and Yellow Fever. I'll be glad when that part is over. My arms are sore.

The Opening Post
The first post of a blog should explain its purpose, I suppose. I'm taking an around-the-world trip this year.and everyone that hears about it tells me I'd better keep a blog during the trip to report on what I'm doing. If you've stumbled across this blog by accident, you can move on to something interesting now because I can tell you that writing is not my forte, and only people who know me are going to be remotely interested in this. I guess you're still reading, so if you're bored, it's your own fault. The trip is hosted by TCS Expeditions Our trip is "Around The World - Fall 2008", which goes to Machu Picchu, Easter Island, Samoa, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Angkor Wat Cambodia, Dubai, Tanzania, and Marrakech Morrocco. We end up in London and return home from there.
We have things to buy, more shots to get, things to prepare. I'll update as we make preparations. Things won't heat up until closer to the departure date, though, so don't plan on seeing anything exciting for several months. Or probably ever. I'm not a writer.
